People, whether they are men or women, are increasingly using online dating sites as a place to run scams. Nigerian scams, Russian scams...they are unfortunately infiltrating the online dating scene.
Elaine has first hand experience with some of these scammers and in many instances has learned to quickly recognize them as such. Due to her experience, she wanted others to be aware of the red flags these scammers put up. Many times they attempt to solicit money and/or private information.
While writing this guide, Elaine knew she also had to include, from her experience and others' experiences, ways to use common sense and caution when meeting strangers for the first time. She didn't want anyone to go into the online dating scene blindly. Unfortunately, as in real life, people are not always what they seem to be.
